Strapless Summer Dress

It's a hot summer day (yes, it's still summer in LA in October!) and I decided to wear this bright strapless dress (plain ol' cotton). How to make it less revelaing for the office? A loose knit sweater over the top. Gold belt, large charm necklace. Viola! It's very "spring" with bright pink and green floral pattern, but it is fun and necessary to get out of my style rut. Gotta break up the routine. Adventures in fashion...

After the workday is through, that sweater becomes a shrug, showing off just a little skin. :)

Be adventurous today, even in a small way.

Casual Friday

This is my Friday business casual. This is as casual as I get during the week.  What did you wear today?
I'm ready for the weekend. Looking forward to rest, relaxation, reading, and some fresh air. Enjoy yourselves, everyone.

Also, I saw some awesome art this week at MOCA Grand and MOCA Geffen. Free museum nights. Do it!

Flower child

I like florals but don't wear them a lot. I like mixing solids, textures (like silk and wool), and I LOVE polka dots. But I got this dress as a gift and thought it was high time I wore it.
It's sleeveless, so I wore a little gray cardigan (new from Target).  And, of course, I cinched it with a belt and added some big, plastic, flower earrings. Simple, pretty, work-wear. (Too simple perhaps...?)

OK. Tomorrow I vow to dress more edgy. Can I put together something "pretty" and "edgy"? We'll see...

Work Wear

I love this comfortable sheath dress (INC from Macy's). And the fitted shape just lends itself to the "office wear" look -- it says "my clothes fit, i'm a serious person, and i mean business." A bright dress with a black jacket and flashy gold jewelry. The obvious thing would be to go for black shoes; but I hate to go for the obvious, so I chose burgundy leather heels and this graffiti bag. Hair pinned over to one-side. A fun outfit like this can make you feel good all day.
(That is what I'm all about! Feeling good about yourself!!! Everyone, get on board the self-confidence train!)
